I've been accessing my architectural skills in my photography lately after landing a job with Essex Construction here in Eugene Oregon. Essex is held in VERY high regard by their clients, who rain praises on them at every shoot. I have been very grateful for their flexibility in working around my schedule and look forward to completing my long list of buildings in the coming months.
One of my more recent shoots brought me to Coho Towhnouses in the University of Oregon East Campus Neighborhood. The East Campus has been a volatile area in recent years with elevated crime rates and dilapidated housing.
What a treat to come across the Coho Townhouses by by developer Dan Neal and architect Richard Shugar. Located near the intersection of 14th and Ferry, the Coho Townhouses are a real diamond in the rough.

A Pleasant Surprise

A colleague of mine stumbled across a very flattering blog posting today while searching for my proofing site in Google. Somewhere around page two, when searching for "Erik Bishoff", one finds Jenn Ackerman's blog-posting "Erik Bishoff — A Photographer for All… on her photography classroom blog. I made sure to peruse her portfolio site JennAckerman.com and I was duly impressed.
Thanks Jenn... the feeling is mutual!

Melinda & Ryan

Melinda & Ryan were married at the Lake Oswego Mormon Temple on a cold blustery January morning. It was my first opportunity to shoot that venue and we made the best of the weather and produced a collection bright and glowing outdoor pictures under the trademark cloudy-white Oregon sky.
They were an accommodating pair with a charming demeanor and an equally as charming collection of friends an family.
If you are a prospective client and would like to view more of their photos, or the photos from any of the galleries at ErikBishoff.smugmug.com please contact me for more information. My contact form is on my website at ErikBishoff.com or email me at info(at)erikbishoff.com.

Whitney & Aaron
Winter weddings in the Pacific Northwest can be a real challenge. Cold and wet weather requires indoor venues. Indoor venues often result in poor lighting. Poor lighting means added challenge to the photographer.
I was geared up to face the challenge of photographing Whitney & Aaron's wedding in a basement reception hall and, despite the poor lighting and low ceilings, things were going quite well. The Bride and Groom's friends and families were energetic and lively. It really is the energy and emotion of a wedding always shines through and Whitney & Aaron's wedding was no exception.
Imagine my delight as the Groom, Groomsmen and Officiant (pictured above) suddenly broke out in a "choreographed" hip-hop dance at the middle of the dance floor. I was taken completely by surprise. I was also laughing so hard that I was having a hard time holding it together to take the pictures. It was a real treat!

Carole and Jacob

These are from my recent shoot of Carole and Jacob's wedding. They were a real pleasure to photograph. They were fun loving and open to trying some photo experimentation like the top pic where I had them pose in front of the limo headlights at the top of Skinner's Butte.
I wish them all the best!
