Jack Ormsby Vella

Baby pictures! Seriously... is anything more adorable? Infants are such fun to shoot. Their expressions and moods change by the second and their developing sense of awareness makes them the ultimate candid subjects.






This little guy, Jack Ormsby Vella, is the newest to the Vella clan. We've been friends with Jesse & Laurie since we all worked at Omars Restaurant and were room mates in Ashland Oregon almost 10 years ago. We love them dearly and feel so fortunate to count them as our closest friends.

As we look forward to our next arrival, a bouncing-baby-girl Bishoff, due any day, I also look forward to getting to know baby-Jack in the coming months and years. Congratulations you guys! (more to come?)

Stacey & Eric

Stacey and Eric had so much fantastic energy. Their love for one another came through the entire day and in addition to that they clearly make one another laugh-- something that was fun to watch and photograph!

Melinda & Ryan

Melinda & Ryan were married at the Lake Oswego Mormon Temple on a cold blustery January morning. It was my first opportunity to shoot that venue and we made the best of the weather and produced a collection bright and glowing outdoor pictures under the trademark cloudy-white Oregon sky.

They were an accommodating pair with a charming demeanor and an equally as charming collection of friends an family.

I captured this shot from the front seat of a Vancouver Taxi on the way to the ceremony. The cramped conditions forced me to shoot "blind" by pointing my camera over my shoulder. I was thrilled to find this shot turned out so well. It was a a sincerely emotional moment as Rose and Ben sat in nervous anticipation.

Carrie & Aaron

Carrie & Aaron - Sauve Island, OR

There's a neat story behind this one.

One of my classmates, Adam, referred me to Carrie and Aaron last year. Adam's wife, coincidentally, used to be friends with some of my high school friends and attended a wedding in which I was Best Man back in the early 90's. Adam's wife was also, coincidentally, a classmate of my wife's back when she was Law School. Meanwhile, Carrie, coincidentally, worked as a bartender in Ashland Oregon around the same time that I was tending bar across town and, although we didn't know each other well, we did have a lot of the same friends.

Small world... eh?
